This is our third year that Folkapotamus has been able to take part in this awesome event, and we are honored to be a part of it. Since 2010, co-founders Mark Mandeville & Raianne Richards have organized an annual non-profit bipedal concert tour of Massachusetts in support of arts and culture for towns throughout the state. Each free community concert collaborates with local artists, musicians, educational programs, trail managers and land trust groups to highlight both artistic diversity and recreational land use. With each visit, a community has pulled together and taken part in a dialogue which serves to strengthen local investment in the arts.

The Burren’s Sunday night “Back-room Acoustic Music” series, or “B.A.M” is a weekly residency on the best club sound stage in Somerville. This event promotes underground artists playing live original acoustic music.
Different artists from all around the town, all around the country and even all around the world are booked at 8 pm and 9 pm and the EmCee and host of the evening Tom Bianchi will take up his battered bass guitar and close out each Sunday night with a set of his own often joined by some of the music community's best artists.
B.A.M has hosted amazing artists over the years including Jonathan Byrd, Ryan Montbleau, Jesse Dee, Amos Lee, Josh Ritter, Beth Wood, Meika Pauly and plenty others and you never know who will stop by late night to sit in with Tom.
The Sunday night bartender Hugh McGowan (host of The Burren’s Tuesday Night Open Mic) has also been fine tuning the back room sound system for years. With 4 independent monitor mixes and stereo over-head speakers as well as stage columns, The Burren back room stage offers one of the best sounding rooms in town as well as an amazing environment to enjoy a show and tip a pint of Guinness with good friends.
C’mon by any Sunday night! At any given show you may catch a super-star stopping by on a night off, a young budding rock star on their way up, or at the very least some great friends having a pint together while checking out some of the best original music in the country!
